Trust Even When it Doesn’t Make Sense

Trust Even When it Doesn’t Make Sense

Our hope, peace and strength come from our confidence in God to see us through all we face. When we trust in Him we know that all will be well. However, trust is not something we learn about once and continue to have without effort. In order to maintain and even grow our confidence we must actively go to the source to be bolstered in our belief. This is how we grow our roots. Continuously turning to the water for replenishment is what sustains us. It is what will stave off fear and make our worries dissipate. This is not what the world teaches us. The world teaches us to plan and not move until we have mapped out our next moves. Although life rarely goes as we plan. Anyone who has ever made a plan can probably attest to this. Thus, the best plan is to trust in God. He will never fail us. Even when it doesn’t make sense, trust all the more.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

‭‭‭‭Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV

Allowing God to be in charge of our lives is the aim in all we do. It is when we give our lives over to him that the plans for our lives will no longer be forced, but will be revealed to us. God has so much planned for us. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV) Our lives were never ours to begin with. God gives us the choice to be with Him. The moment we learn that life is made easier with Him we must commit to His ways and the plans for our life will unfold like we have never known before. The choice to commit to Him is a daily endeavour. We can rest assured that if we do, God will always hold up His end.

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

Proverbs 16:3 NIV‬‬

A Story of Trust and Confidence:

I had learned to ask God for favor, but a few days ago I discovered more deeply what God's grace encompasses. I have been diagnosed with environmental and chemical allergies. I know this term may be new to some and others have no idea what it means.

God put together these two amazing doctors to help me with my oral health. I had been attending another facility in another state, but the progress was slow and they finally admitted that they could not help me. I do testing for my ECA in Dallas, Texas and I was recommended to an oral surgeon by my environmental/allergy doctor. I was looking for an oral surgeon that could do zirconia implants and work with me concerning my allergies to chemicals. After the insertion of the implants my oral surgeon referred me to a prosthodontist who discovered that my oral situation was coming from the metal that was left on both sides of my mouth from the remaining bridge work and a filling at the bottom right that all contained metal, mercury, and silver which I am highly allergic to.

My prayer while sitting in the dental chair as he told me this was thank you God for favor. In Deuteronomy 31:6, God tells us that ....He will never leave you or forsake you. God commands our confidence and trust in Him. Through the Grace of God, I made it.
