Surrender is Leaning into Grace

Surrender is Leaning into Grace

‬“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭29‬-‭31‬ ‭NIV

God has never left us. He has never let us down. He has always delivered us. So then why is it so hard to come back to this reality when we are in the midst of frustration and hard times?

The reason is surrender. He asks us to surrender everything and put all our trust in Him. It is only when we are in full surrender that we are trusting in His provision for us.

Our fleshly approach and desire for certainty for what is next will never serve us. We can hold tight to the promises of this scripture. But we have to know scripture to know what His promises are.

Our lives are in perfect alignment with Him when we are serving. Jesus did not come here to show us how to be first. He showed us how to be last. Surrender is where the grace of God is able to be the power and strength in our lives we constantly pray for.

Considerations for your planner:

  • Is there something that is difficult in your life right now? Write it down and see if you can invite surrender into your life.

A Prayer for Our Community:

Father, help us to surrender. Help us to see where we are holding onto worldly ways and logic. Help us to let those things go and chase after You more. We want to live in peace and joy for what You have already gifted us. Help us to release what we think we can control and what we think we are supposed to know. Amen.
