Obedience to God Brings Ease to Life

Obedience to God Brings Ease to Life

Living in responsive obedience is more easily achieved when we know someone is watching. Think back to when we were kids. When our parents were watching us we certainly acted with much more obedience. When they were not looking we felt more freedom to step out of what was expected of us. When we look back, we must ask ourselves if stepping out helped or hindered us. Then we must think about what God intends for us. His will and direction is perfect. Everything that He instructs us toward is for our good. In this way we are strengthened to put all our energy toward living in responsive obedience. His energy will surge through us as our obedience gives Him pleasure.

What I’m getting at, friends, is that you should simply keep on doing what you’ve done from the beginning. When I was living among you, you lived in responsive obedience. Now that I’m separated from you, keep it up. Better yet, redouble your efforts. Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God. That energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure.

Philippians 2:12 MSG

A Prayer for Our Community:

Lord, Thank You for being with us. Please continue to come alongside us in everything that we do. We want to live in responsive obedience. The world is strong, but we know You are stronger. Help us to lean into Your strength so that we are made stronger. We want to feel Your energy surging through us as we face each day. Amen.
